Best Treadmill For Home Use UK

Last Updated on

If you are looking for the best home gym treadmill, read on…

Treadmills are a great tool for cardio, and a very popular exercise –  running, jogging or walking. They allow you to train from the comfort of your own home, whether in the spare room, garage or home gym, and regardless of the weather.

Choosing one to buy can seem overwhelming, especially if you are planning to purchase one online.

They can also vary in price quite drastically. You can expect to pay anything from £100 right up to the £5k range.

Whilst there are models available with rollers, which are powered by the user rather than a motor, it is not something I would recommend.

What could be useful, however, is a treadmill that has the ability to be folded to enable you to store it in a corner, taking up less space once you are done.

The more you can afford, the more features you can expect, such as preprogrammed exercise routines, additional tracking (heart rate, speed, distance and estimated calories burned) and more advanced screens.

Many treadmills have an incline feature, increasing the intensity of your workout by simulation walking or running uphill.

Make sure you look for one with an emergency stop button, and even better, a clip that you can attach to your clothing so, should you trip or fall over it will automatically stop.

Always consider who will be using your new gym equipment – taking into account their height for stride length, where you will using it – how much space it will require, and more importantly, what your budget is. Do not forget to check if the cost includes delivery (unless you plan to collect it, they are very heavy!), whether it requires assembling and if they offer that as a service, and what warranty is included.

As with any price of equipment, the price will usually have an indication of its quality. The dearer ones tend to be more sturdy and substantial, meaning a more comfortable use and increased longevity.

I always advise using comparison charts for the above mentioned features, size and other factors you may require from your treadmill.

Look at the item’s star rating and genuine customer reviews – but make sure you read a few and try not to focus on one negative comment, or positive for that matter.

If you know anyone that has one, ask them if they would recommend it. Find out what the better brands are.

You could look at what is installed in your local gym, but bear in mind that they may have bought all their equipment from a single supplier for ease or cost benefits, rather than handpicking each item individually.
